Comparison of Oral Hygiene Practices between Dental, Medical and Allied Health Sciences Undergraduate Students of Lahore

Aim: To determine how dental education affects the oral hygiene practices in Pakistan. Study design: Descriptive cross-sectional study. Place: FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, Lahore, Duration: One month. Methodology: A self-administered questionnaire was circulated amongst BDS, MBBS, AHS students The responses were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0. Results: Dental superior to MBBS brushing frequency, electric toothbrush water flosser use. Manual toothbrushes are more commonly used than all three groups. More believed that better. Flossing proved unpopular. Toothpicks preferred interdental aid. Few use flossers. Mouthwashes only when needed. Most respondents nonsmokers, but BDS smoked. Conclusion: Pakistan impacts habits since reported have habits. electronic manual ones, indicating require knowledge toothbrushes.
